Plumber Bob Hamilton plunges lefty Tweets from his Twitter account — in anticipation of Senate run?

Possibly in anticipation of a U.S. Senate run, the Bob Hamilton Twitter account — @PlumberBob — was scrubbed over the weekend of any potentially left-leaning re-Tweets and the name was even changed detaching Hamilton personally from the account.

As noted first on the Could Be Big podcast (later confirmed by the Wall Street Journal), Bob Hamilton — of the well-know Johnson Co. Hamilton Plumbing and Heating — is considering a bid for the GOP nomination for U.S. Senate in Kansas.

Someone must have noticed that Hamilton’s Twitter account was less than 100% conservative. And they started deleting and deleting.

But as they say, the internet lasts forever.
And Could Be Big has the screenshots.

First, note that the Twitter account itself was changed — from Friday evening to Saturday morning — from “@PlumberBob”…

…to “@PlumberBobTeam”.

The idea of having a separate personal account from one’s campaign account is nothing new. But the fact that they used the same account may somehow imply that they want to show that Bob himself isn’t in charge of this Twitter account.

But if it’s still from the company, why expunging all of the re-Tweets?

Such as:
Supporting Hillary Clinton

Promoting Barack Obama

Feting Michelle Obama

Promoting radical environmentalist Greta Thunberg

And then, complaints about the 2016 election results

This isn’t to say the account deleted everything non-plumbing related. There are still plenty of Tweets about such things The Nutcracker ballet, Kansas road conditions, and Amazon Prime Day.

All of those non-political Tweets survived the Friday Night Plunging.

Something else changed on the @PlumberBob account, but we didn’t notice until Sunday:

Note the number of “Follows” the account had on Friday night (that’s the number that the account follows, not those who follow it): 1,090.

But by Saturday morning, that was reduced by 374, to 716 accounts.

Who is “Team” Bob…no longer following? Dunno.

And we still don’t know whether Bob Hamilton is actually running (and whether Jeff Roe’s Axiom Strategies is consulting for him).

But, FWIW, HamiltonForSenate.com and HamiltonForKansas.com were purchased on January 24, 2020.

And some say this self-funder could put $1 million into a run.

We’ll keep watching.
